Khouria Frederica

Radio Reading for the Blind

Several Holy Cross parishioners and friends have shown an interest in lending their voices to reading and recording Orthodox books for the visually impaired among us. Khouria Frederica has this to say about the ministry:

I've been reading for the Radio Reading Network of Maryland for about 10 years. The station is on the campus of Baltimore City Community College, on Liberty Heights Ave. We record newspapers, magazines, TV listings, all kinds of things. People with vision deficits or other difficulty reading, rent a radio receiver that picks up the channel for $50 per year, or free if necessary. I usually read books, one hour a week; when it's finished, they broadcast it an hour a day in sequence. I've read all the Narnia books and all the Ring Trilogy.
