St. Nina Feast Day
Dinner and Presentation
Tuesday evening, January 13th, 6:30 pm -
Great Vespers followed by dinner and presentation to celebrate the Feast Day of St Nina of Georgia
Amal Morcos will be showing us slides and talking about IOCC's war relief and long term development work in Georgia as well as some photographs from the holy city of Metskheta where some of their most important monasteries and holy places connected to St. Nino are located.
In the first of two slide shows we'll see monasteries, churches and iconography. The second is on the work of IOCC in Georgia (refugees, agricultural development, working in schools).
We'd like to have a Georgian themed meal after vespers during this presentation. Please contact Debra Mattingly if you are willing and able to help provide food for this evening [Georgian or not]. Debra would love for someone to volunteer to coordinate this meal. Recipes can be provided.
Saint Nina has a very special place in the life of Holy Cross. She is the patron saint of our Ladies chapter of Antiochian Women. We have celebrated a great Vespers and presented a talk about St Nina for many years on her feast day.
Please let Debra know if you think you'll be able to come so we can have an idea of how much food to prepare.
