The Center for Byzantine Material Arts will host a series of lectures from scholars/clergy who specialize in Byzantine studies to lecture on aspects of the Icon November 5th at 7:00pm. We invite you to join us for the Fall/Winter series which meets the first Thursday of the month. Check calender for scheduled lectures each month.

First lecture November 5th at 7:00pm with Dr. John Yiannias - “The Word about the Image: Talking about Orthodox Imagery.” Dr. Yiannias Taught the history of Early Christian and Byzantine Art and related topics for 32 years at the University of Virginia B.A. in Philosophy, University of Michigan; M.A. in General Studies in the Humanities, University of Chicago; Ph.D. in History of Art, University of Pittsburgh. Taught the history of Early Christian and Byzantine Art and related topics for 32 years at the University of Virginia. $10 donation.
